Went for breakfast with my pal. Breakfast portions are a good size. Free refills of coffee and tea. Staff are friendly. Nicely set out away from bar area.

Pre Christmas lunch with family the food was excellent

My husband and I had an overnight stay at The Commercial Hotel and would definitely recommend it. There is a spacious car park at the rear of the hotel. Very friendly staff at check in (sorry can't remember the ladies name who checked us in & also served us at dinner and breakfast). I was lucky enough to get one of the first two rooms downstairs with a balcony. The room itself was spotless. There were plenty of tea's and coffees available with complimentary biscuits, it was a nice touch. After settling in the room we went down to the bar for food, the steak and sausage pie is delicious I would definitely recommend trying it. Later that night after returning from a birthday party the nightclub was in full swing, you couldn't hear anything from the downstairs room but if you walked up to the top floor you could hear the music blaring. For those looking for a quieter stay I recommend asking for the lower floor rooms. The only criticism I can add is that I had trouble connecting to the WiFi in the room but in fairness that didn't really bother me. I do have to say though after having a delicious meal at dinner time I was very disappointed with the breakfast. The Scottish breakfast came out with scrambled egg which was disgusting and tasted burnt, the sausage wasn't that great either, the only nice thing's on the plate were the black pudding and potato scone. We would definitely love to return for a visit even if it is only to have the steak pie.

Booked three rooms for myself and family for an overnight last week. Rooms were amazing, very nicely decorated, clean and well stocked with refreshments. The staff. OMG What can I say? They were absolutely fantastic and so helpful. Went above and beyond helping my old aunt settle into her room. Even with the breakfast meals, so accommodating with dietary requirements. The location is great and suited us perfectly, with ample car parking at the rear.

We were there Friday-Monday & had a very nice & clean family room. The staff we're helping & friendly, breakfast started @10am so a little too late for us but we had a meal on Monday which we all enjoyed. Sunday & Monday nights were lovely, Friday & Saturday had functions in the bar below the rooms & it was very loud. If you're not able to sleep through noise, as I am, chose to stay on a weekday.

Nice food, fair price, lovely friendly waitresses. Only knocked a star off as menu showed vegetarian haggis stack but it's not! It's a typo. Looked nice but my wife is a vegetarian and lucky enough smelt the bacon.

Was a lovely hotel, rooms were spacious and very clean. Staff friendly. Clean from the outside too. Everything smelt fresh. Breakfast was nice. The only problem was when showering you slide all over and also exiting the shower. Could do with a bath mat. Will visit again

I stayed for just 2 nights. The room exceeded my expectations, it was immaculate and equipped with everything a person could need for a short stay. Bathroom was also very big and spacious. The staff at the bar/restaurant and checkout were also really friendly. There is a nightclub nearby but it didn't bother me in the room I was staying.

Had a 2 night stay here. Easy check in..rooms to the left of the pub with a seperate entrance. Continental breakfast from 8am. Full Scottish breakfast at 10am. Far too late for breakfast, if you want to be out and about then you have to have continental which should be explained when booking as we wouldnt have paid for breakfast knowing it was served at 10am. Charlene our host at breakfast was great. Also l believe she is head housekeeper..kudos to you as your rooms are spotless. Overall a great stay.
